FAQ for Contributors

Why is the Daily National valuable to Bloggers?

We are the number one tool for helping bloggers turn their text blogs into multimedia blogs. We allow bloggers to leverage their expertise into being TV and radio commentators.

 

Is there a pre-interview to discuss the TV or radio interviews?

No the interview must be done based on the blog column of the blogger’s choice.

 

How long are the TV and radio interviews?

Each interview would be conducted on an as long as needed basis, typically 3 to 8 minutes long which can be twice as long as a Today Show interview.

 

Do you help contributors prepare for TV interviews if they have never done any before?

Yes. We offer an optional, free-of-charge, comprehensive 8 hour online media training course for contributors.

 

Can contributors place promotions for their own books, websites, YouTube pages, etc., on their Daily National homepage?

Yes. Every contributor will be allowed to promote anything on their Daily National homepage

 

Can contributors upload audio and video files as well as text columns?

Yes.

 

Can contributors embed videos from YouTube?

Yes, as long as you write a unique summary and description for the Daily National.

 

Do contributors have to provide original content to the Daily National?

We ask for a 24 hour of exclusivity on any piece of content you give us which helps us avoid SEO problems. After that, you may post the same content to your blog or anyplace else.

 

Does every piece of content have to be 100% original to the Daily National?

It is Ok to use material that has already been posted elsewhere, but please make sure you have at least several sentences that have been created uniquely for the Daily National audience.

 

Why would a blogger want to contribute to the Daily National?

This is great brand extension for existing bloggers. We aren’t asking them to shut down their blogs. For many bloggers, this is a great way to enter the world of TV and radio punditry.

 

Can people submit YouTube videos instead of writing a column?

Sure as long as they give us original one paragraph text summary.

 

Won’t this hurt my own blog?

You can link back to your blog from your Daily National homepage. You can shamelessly promote your own blog in every interview and in every post you create. It actually helps promote your existing personal blog.

 

Is there a minimum length to a blog posting?

No.  Although we recommend it be at least 200 words.

 

Can I post my Daily National interview on my own blog?

Absolutely!

 

Why else should I want to contribute/write for the Daily National?

It’s a way of taking any idea you have written and turning it into a multimedia form of content. Your blog article can now be turned into a TV interview or a radio interview.
